The first ever maritime specialized public university of the country “Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University (BSMRMU), Bangladesh” holds its 5th annual senate meeting at the conference room of its temporary campus in the city.
It is a milestone in the progress of the university. Vice-Chancellor of the university, Rear Admiral M Khaled Iqbal presided over the meeting.
By the presence and opinion of the senate’s respected members, discussions and various decisions were taken on various important issues related to the university in the meeting.
The senate started with welcome speech from the Vice-Chancellor of the University. BSMRMU Treasurer proposed revised budget of 32.90 crore for fiscal year 2018-2019 and budget of 36.30 crore for fiscal year 2019-2020 which got approved unanimously.
The 5th annual report of the University (July 2018 – June 2019) was presented at the meeting.
The senate members expressed their satisfaction over the progress of the university.
The Vice-Chancellor expressed his desire that the university is determined to develop necessary maritime human resources for the nation in order to explore and collect maritime resources and also hoped that, the university will contribute to the progress of the “Blue Economy” of the nation by innovation of modern technologies.
