The fifth convocation of International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) was held at the Uttara Sector-14 Playground amid much enthusiasm and festive mood on Thursday.
Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni presided over the convocation, while former Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University and former Chairman of University Grants Commission Professor Dr AK Azad Chowdhury was the convocation speaker at the function.
Vice-Chancellor of IUBAT Professor Dr Abdur Rab conducted the convocation while Editor of the Daily Kalerkhantho Imdadul Haque Milon was present as the special guest.
A total of 6,803 graduates and post graduates have been conferred the certificates. Of them, eight graduates and post-graduates got Mian Gold medal.
Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni said, no nation can develop or prosper themselves without proper education. The Education Ministry has been working to make the people educated.
“Technology dominates the present world. At the same time agriculture is also important for our survival in the world. The IUBAT has been working to build the skilled manpower who could negotiate between technology and agriculture,” she said.
The IUBAT was established in 1991. Former teacher of Dhaka Univerity Professor Dr M Alim Ullah Mian was the founder of the university.
