At least 58 drug peddlers and addicts were arrested from the city’s different areas in last 24 hours since early Friday.
The law enforcers also seized 18,470 pieces of Yaba tablets, 90 bottles of phensidyle, 475 instigated injections, 1185 pieces of heroiny and one Kg cannabis, said Masudur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
Separate teams of law enforcing agencies, including detective personnel,
conducted drive based on information across the city and arrested them with the drug items between Thursday and Friday morning, the police official said.
The arrested men were sent to jail following court order, the DC said.
Earlier, 39 cases have been filed with the concerned police stations under the Narcotics Control Act, he said.
