58 ACC officials given promotions at last

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), has given the commission’s 58 officials promotions after a long speculation.
The ACC issued the circular of the promotion on Tuesday.
Of them, five have been promoted as directors from deputy directors, nine deputy directors from assistant directors, 28 assistant deputy directors from assistant directors, 12 got assistant deputy director posts and three were promoted as court directors.
The ACC officials said it was commission’s record promotions unlike any time in the past.
ACC Secretary and President of Divisional Promotion Committee Abu Md Mostafa Kamal said that the commission considered its officials’ skills and proper qualification for promotion.
Md Akhter Hossain, Md Abu Sayeed, Mir Md Joynul Abedin Shibli, Shirin Parvin and Syed Ikbal Hossain have been promoted to director post.
Md Shamsul Alam, Sheikh Abdus Salam, ABM Abdus Sabur, Md Manjur Alam, Helal Uddin Sharif, Syed Ahmed, Abu Bakar Siddique, Rafiqul Islam and Fazlul have been awarded deputy director posts.
The ACC sources said that two meetings were held on last Tuesday and Wednesday with ACC Secretary and President of Divisional Promotion Committee Abu Md Mostafa Kamal as president. The meetings decided to give the promotions to the officials.
Earlier on May 10, the ACC decided to promote its 47 officials. But the then ACC secretary did not sign the promotion sheet. The then Secretary Maksudul Hasan Khan told the commissioners of the commission to give the promotion on the basis of seniority only. But the commissioners requested him to promote on the basis of seniority and skill and talent. The promotion was hung for long time.
