Pry education hamper: 563 teaching posts remain vacant in Narsingdi

As huge vacancies for teachers in primary schools across the district remains unaddressed, most of the institutions have been struggling to coordinate the lessons and ensure quality of education for long.
According to the Directorate of Primary Education, 563 teaching posts remain vacant in 766 primary schools in the district.
Obaidul Kader Sarkar, assistant teacher of Charnagardi Government Primary School said they face different crisis while conducting educational and official activities for the want of adequate teachers.
Md Sohorab Hossain Bhuiyan, upazila education officer of Palash upazila, said as a good number of assistant teachers of different primary schools is not getting promotion for long, the vacant posts are not being filled.
Nargis Sajeda Sultana, primary education officer the district, said there has been no recruitment for the posts of head teacher and assistant teacher since 2011.
“The problem is also creating impediment in educational activities as the head teacher is the main guardian of a school,” he said.
“We also hope that the posts would not remain vacant for long as already a recruitment test has been held,” she added.
Consultation on education 2030 held: Mothers Development Society(MDS) and Campaign for Popular Education (CAMPE) jointly organised a sub-national level consultations on Education 2030 at LGED office auditorium here yesterday.
 Government officials, representatives of civil society, Principals and Headmasters of different colleges and schools, NGO representatives journalists took part in the cosultation.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (general) Narsingdi ANM Faizul Hoque addressed the function as chief guest while former Principals of Narsingdi Government College Prof Mohammad Ali and Prof Golam Mostafa Miah addressed the cosultation as main discussionists.
Fahima Khanum Executive Director Of MDS delivered the welcome speech. Mohammad Abdur Rouf,Deputy Program Manager of CAMPE presented the power point presentation on education 2030.
Chief guest Faizul Hoque said Bangladesh now a model of development. Banhgladesh showed great success in achiving MDG. He said Bangladesh comperatievly achived better in poverty alleviation and women empowerment and others development programme then the nighbouring countries.
He said Bangladesh achieved its goals in its 13 index in the trgeted period. He called upon all to work tegether for the development of the country anf for achieving the goal of SDG to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
Amon others District Education officer (Kisherganj) AKM Shajahan, District assistant Information officer Shanjida Amin, Headmaster of Shibpur Piolot high school Nuruddin Mohammad Alamgir, Area manager Of BRAC, Narsingdi Mojibur Rahman, Journalists Sarker Adam Ali Salam Rana and Shahadat Hossain Raju addressed.
