BSS, Sangsad Bhaban :
Fifty-six schedule banks have 8,560 branches across the country, said Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith while replying to a question from treasury bench member Nizam Uddin Hazari in the Jatiya Sangsad Monday.
He said four state-owned commercial banks run 3,513 branches, while four state-owned specialized banks maintain 1,489 branches in the country.
Muhith informed the House that private banks have 3,491 branches, while foreign banks maintain their dealings for clients with 67 branches.
Presently, 56 schedule banks have 8,560 branches across the country for providing services to their clients, he added.
