56 fined for violating lockdown in Noakhali

Mobile courts fined 20 vehicles including two bus drivers and 36 business establishments in different places in Begumganj upazila of the district for violating the seven-day lockdown began today across the country to halt the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.
Executive Magistrate and Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Shamsun Nahar and Upazila Land Officer Kamrul Hossain Chowdhury conducted the mobile courts separately at Chaumuhani Bazar of the upazila this afternoon.
Begumganj Thana Police assisted the mobile court at that time.
During the raids, a total of 20 different types of vehicles including two bus drivers for operating the buses during the country wide lockdown and 36 businesses organization were fined Taka 39,000 for violating lockdown and not using masks.
Executive Magistrate and Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Shamsun Nahar told BSS the government announced country wide lockdown to prevent the spread of coronavirus due to the rapid increase in the incidence of corona virus.
