A total of 55 women from grass-root level in the division were selected as Joyeeta under five caregories for their outstanding performances in the society.
Of them, five have been selected from each 11 districts of Chittagong division for their extraordinary achievements in five separate categories.
This was revealed by Divisional Commissioner Mohammad Ruhul Amin at a press conference held at his conference hall on Tuesday .
Each Joyeeta will be awarded with a crest and cash in a reception to be held at LGED conference hall in the city at 11am tomorrow. State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Meher Afroj Chumki will addend the function as the chief guest while Pro-Vice Chancellor of Chittagong University Professor Dr Shirin Akter and Director General of Directorate of Women Affairs Shahin Akter will attend the event as discussants. The Chittagong divisional administration organised the programme in association with the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs and the Directorate of Women Affairs in Chittagong. Joyeeta Onneshone Bangladesh – an initiative introduced in 2009 by the government – has a tremendous impact on the society.
