55 rivers marked rise, 31 fall

Water levels in 55 river stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise and 31 stations recorded fall.
Among the 90 monitored water level stations, two river stations have been registered steady while nine rivers are flowing above danger mark, a bulletin issued by FFWC said here on Friday.
The Dharia at Kurigram, Brahmaputra at Chilmari, the Jamuna at Bahadurabad and Sariakandi, the Dhaleswari at Elasin, the Padma at Sureswar, the Surma at Kanaighat and Sunamganj and the Kangsha at Jariajanjail are flowing above its danger levels by 33 cm, 48cm, 10am, 5cm, 38cm, 15cm, 14cm, 66cm and 68cm respectively.
Significant rainfall was recorded in some stations in different districts during the last 24 hours ending at 6 am on Friday. A total of 80 millimeters (mm) rainfall were recorded at Lorergarh, 53 mm at Dalia, 72 mm at Khulna and 47.5 mm at Noakhali.
