53 tons sugar vanished from KSM warehouse Storekeeper dismissed

Fifty-three tons of sugar have disappeared from the warehouse of Kushtia Sugar Mills (KSM) Limited.
Faridul Haque, the storekeeper of the mill, has been dismissed because of this incident.
Rakibur Rahman Khan, Managing Director (MD) of the KSM, informed this on Saturday afternoon.
A three-member committee headed by Kalyan Kumar Debnath, the General Manager (GM) of the factory, has been formed for proper investigation into the disappearance of sugar from the warehouse of the sugar mills.
The committee has been asked to submit the probe report within seven working days.
Rakibur Rahman Khan said when we went to assess the stock of sugar on June 2, about 53 tons less sugar were found. The market value of the sugar is about Tk 32 lakh.
The MD said, “We have already formed a probe body to look into the incident. Besides, we have dismissed the store keeper of the warehouse. When asked, he said, the probe body will investigate how a big quantity of sugar had been out from the mill gate. We will take punitive action against the culprits based on the probe body report.  
It may be mentioned that Kushtia sugar mill closed its activities on December 2, 2020 last year. It incurred a loss of Tk 415 crore from 2001-2002 financial year to 2019-20 financial year.
