A 53-member contingent will represent Bangladesh in the 4th Asian Beach Games to be held in the Thai tourist town of Phuket on November 14-23.
The first batch of the Bangladesh contingent with some 30 athletes and officials will fly Bangkok on Wednesday (Nov 12) while the remaining members of the contingent will depart from here ahead of their respective events.
President of Bangladesh Table Tennis Federation (BTTF) Mohammad Abdul Karim has been named as the chef-de-mission of Bangladesh contingent comprising 33 athletes, 11 team officials and nine contingent officials.
Basketball player Mithun Kumar Biswas will carry the Bangladesh flag in the games.
Leading Asian athletes will battle for 169 gold medals in the 26 disciplines of sports at seven different beach venues.
Of the 26 disciplines of sports in the continental games, Bangladesh will compete in seven beach sports — Athletics, Marathon Swimming, Basketball, Handball, Kabaddi (Men’s & Women’s), Volleyball, and Wrestling.
