Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) and Detective Branch (DB) arrested at least 53 drug traders on charges of selling and consuming drugs during the ongoing anti-narcotics drives in the capital in last 24 hours from Wednesday morning to Thursday morning.
Detective Branch of the DMP in association of the members of local police stations of the city carried out the drives separately starting from 6:00 am on Wednesday.
During the drives, the law enforcers recovered 3,160 pieces of contraband yaba tablets, 400 grams of

During the drives, the law enforcers recovered 3,160 pieces of contraband yaba tablets, 400 grams of
heroin, 9 kg of hemp, 95 bottles of phensidyl from their possessions, said DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media) Masudur Rahman.
A total of 39 cases were filed with different police stations under Narcotics Control Act, DC added.
