52 rivers marked rise, 26 fall

Water levels in 52 river stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise and 26 stations recorded fall.
Among the 84 monitored water level stations, five river stations have been registered steady while three stations have been recorded flowing above danger level, a bulletin issued by FFWC said here on Thursday.
The Kangsha at Jariajanjail, the Khowai at Ballah and the Halda at Narayan Hat are flowing above its danger level by 3 cm, 9 cm and 0 cm respectively.
The Brahmaputra-Jumuna, Surma-Kushiyara and Ganges river systems are in
falling trend while the Padma river system is in rising trend.
The Ganges-Padma river system is likely to rise in the next 48 hours.
Significant rainfall was recorded in some stations in different districts
during the last 24 hours ending at 6 am yesterday.
A total of 202 mm rainfall was recorded at Barisal, 157.0 mm at
Panchpukuria, 120 mm at Tangail, 113 mm at Chittagong, 109 mm at Cox’s Bazar,
105 mm at Ramgarh, 100 mm at Comilla, 93 mm at Patuakhali, 55 mm at
Parshuram, 162.7 mm at Barguna, 128.5 mm at Narayanhat, 115.5 mm at
Bhagyakul, 112.7 mm at Kushtia, 108.5 mm at Faridpur, 101.4 mm at Pabna, 97.0
mm at Khulna, 62.0 mm at Teknaf and 54.0 mm at Lama.
