The BGB has pushed back 52 Myanmar citizens after stopping them from entering into Bangladesh territory illegally through Naikkhangchharhi border areas in Bandarban.
They were trying to trespass through Betbunia Bazaar and Tamabru areas at Ghumdhum on Friday, Border Guard Bangladesh’s 17th Battalion Commander Lt Col Imran Ullah Sarker said. He said 35 men and 17 women from Myanmar were stopped and sent back during raids conducted from the morning until afternoon.
A total of 353 trespassers from Myanmar had been sent back since May 1, the BGB official added. Last month, more than 220 Myanmar nationals were pushed back, according to BGB account.
