52 held from hotels in Cox’s Bazar for anti-social activities

Cox’s Bazar Sadar thana police detained 52 males and females on the allegations of anti-social activities from three residential cottages at the Light House areas of hotel-motel zones of the town on Friday night.
Detained persons belong 31 females and 21 males. Police also recovered some Yaba from a cottage.
Police said, those cottages were engaged in anti-social activities.
Rafiqul Islam, Additional Superintendent of Police of Cox’s Bazar informed eight males and two females were held from Amir Dream Palace, 13 males, 17 females and an employee from Meem Resort and 10 males and 2 females from Aziz Guest Inn. Police also recovered 360 pieces of Yaba tablets from the desk of the Manager of Aziz Guest Inn.
He said, a section of cattage owner and an organised circle of the hotel Managers were engaged in conducting anti-social activities in those cottagesfor a long time. Being informed, a police team conducted raid in those cottages from 5-00 PM to 9-00 pm on Friday and arrested 52 persons including females.
Police team also conducted a raid at a cottage without any sign beside the Meem Resort and failed to arrest anyone because, sensing the police presence, inmates of the cottage managed to escape through the door behind. Case has been filed against the detained persons.
Bipul Chandra Dey, Officer-in-charge of Cox’s Bazar Model police station informed, after the brief interrogation, case has been filed against the arrested persons under the concerned act. They will be sent to the court in Cox’s Bazar on Saturday.
