The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested at least 52 persons on charges of selling and consuming drugs during anti-drug operations in different areas of the capital city over the past 24 hours till 6:00 am Friday.
Detectives and the law enforcers jointly did it and seized illegal drugs from their possession.
According to DMP statement, police seized 6,818 Yaba tablets, 18kg 183gm hemp, 28gram 10 heroin and 24 bottle phensedyl from their possessions.
Being informed, members of Detectives and Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) conducted a 24-hour long raid and detained the drug trades from various places, it also said.
According to the statement, a total of 41 cases have been filed against the detained persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
