In separate anti-drug operations, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 52 persons on charges of selling and consuming drugs in the city during last 24 hours ending 6 am on Tuesday.
According to a DMP statement, police and members of detective units conducted anti-drug campaign in different areas in the capital city, seized drugs and arrested drug sellers and abusers.
During the raids, police seized 967 pieces of yaba, 283 grams and 101 purias (small packets) of heroin and 10.55 kilograms of cannabis from them, the statement added.
Police filed 37 cases against the arrestees in this connection with police stations concerned under the Narcotics Control Act.
