The police detained 51 more teenagers from Hatirjheel area on Tuesday night for harassing visitors there.
Plainclothes and uniformed police teams carried out a raid from afternoon to night on the day and arrested them, said a police headquarters release on Tuesday.
Of the detainees, 26 were handed over to their parents while the remaining were taken in police custody.
Actions would be taken against them as per Dhaka Metropolitan Ordinance for creating nuisance in public place, said police headquarters assistant inspector general for media Sohel Rana. The raid was part of a crackdown on street harassment.
So far at least 102 teenagers were detained from Hatirjheel in a week’s raids.
As most of the accused were minors, the police handed them over to their parents.
In a Facebook post, a city dweller alleged on January 26 that visitors were being harassed by some teenagers in the Hatirjheel area.
