About 5,000 recommended assistant teachers did not join the secondary educational institutions across the country due to their better service opportunity and complexities in the appointment process.
The Non-Government Teachers Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA) sources said, around 30 lakh candidates applied online for 39,535 vacant posts at 15,186 secondary institutions.
The NTRCA authorities had selected the necessary teachers through Non-Government Teachers Registration examination and recommended them for appointment. Of them as many as 35,000 teachers out of 39,535joined.
The NTRCA officials said that a good number of candidates got first class jobs. Some of them, however, failed to join due to the mistake of the schools and madrasas authorities.
The schools and madrasas authorities wrote to the NTRCA for teachers, but some of the institutions had not respective subjects. As a result, the successful candidates could not join there.
NTRCA Chairman S M Ashfaq Hossain said that they had selected the teachers as per demands of the institutions. But as many as 5000 teachers did not join driven by their ambitions and mistake of the schools.
“There is no reason to be disappointed. We will start the next appointment process within two months and will recommend the successful
candidates for join,” he said. “Every one has the right to join the schools or not. We are selecting the eligible candidates on the basis of merit. It any one does not join after selection, we will choose another one,” the NTRCA chairman said.
On December 18 last year, NTRCA issued an advertisement for the appointment of 39,535 teachers in non-government schools, colleges, madrasas and technical educational institutions across the country.
The sources said around 30 lakh candidates had applied online for the vacant posts between December 19, 2018 and January 2. The applicants included the successful candidates from the first to the 14th NTRCA.
The successful candidates have been asked to join their respective institutions 30 days from January 24 this year.
However, NTRCA did not have any fixed age limit for recruitment. However, the High Court on December 14, 2017 had directed the government to fix the age limit of the candidates at entry level.
Last year, the education ministry fixed the age limit at 35.
From now on, NTRCA will follow the given age limit necessary for the recruitment of candidates to non-government educational institutions.
