At least 5,000 birds of a poultry farm were burnt in a village of Jhenaidah Sadar Upazila on Thursday early morning.
The farm owner has lost all his affords following the loss and the loss was primarily estimated at Taka six lakh, said the farm owner.
Saifuzzaman Milon of village Nijputia under the upazila said, he was nursing about 10 thousand tiny chicks of the broiler in his farm. At about 4 am , the workers of the farm informed that the farm was set on fire. He rushed to the spot and witnessed huge flame was there.
Hundreds of people form surrounding areas rushed there and brought the fire under control. But at least 5,000 birds were burn alive following the fire incident. He had estimated the loss for about Taka six lakh, Milon said.
About the origin of the fire, Milon said, electricity lines were on right truck, but the some one might set the farm on fire following village enmity.
District Livestock Officer Hafizur Rahman said, he was not informed about the fire incident. He will take necessary measures to send physicians to the farm, DLO said.
