500 poor families get PM’s relief goods in Chandpur

In order to overcome the current critical and crisis period due to the on going Corona pandemic situation, as many as 420 municipal scavengers and clean staffs and 80 destitute, poor and distressed (total 500) families were given relief goods (each 7 kg rice) as gift of the Prime Minister by the Chandpur district administration at a simple ceremony held at Chandpur District Stadium on Wednesday.
Earlier, last week as many as 2500 poor and workless families were given similar relief packs in five phases at this stadium maintaining social distance.
DC Anjana Khan Majlish handed over the relief packs (containing seven kilograms of rice in each pack) one by one maintaining social distance.
Chandpur Municipal Mayor Advocate Zillur Rahman Jewel also was present on the occasion. Besides, ADC General A Al Mahmud Zaman, Executive Magistrates, Chandpur Press Club members and a group of volunteers were present on the occasion.
Expressing satisfaction, recipients elderly Komola Horijon (55), Gonga Horijon (55) and Nina Horijon (56) have said with smiles, “Now we will be able to run the family for a few days with this rice.
