A case was filed on Sunday against 50 people over a clash between activists of Jubo League (JL) and Sramik League (SL) in Goalabazar area of Osmaninagar upazila.
Nabedur Rahman Chowdhury, brother of Afazalur Rahman Nazlu, general secretary of Osmaninagar Awami-League, filed the case with Osmaninagar Police Station accusing 25 identified and 25 unidentified men making Altafur Rahman Sohel, general secretary of the local unit of Jubo League, main accused, said Mursalin, officer-in-charge of Osmaninagar Police Station.
Earlier on Sunday two groups of Jubo League and Shramik League locked horns into an altercation over a trifling matter at a conference of Shramik League in a community centre in Goalabazar area around 4:30pm.
The clash left Altaful Rahman Sohel, general secretary of the local unit of Jubo League, and nine others injured.
Later in the day, the supporters of Sohel attacked business establishments of Afzalur Rahman Chowdhury Nazlu, and also vandalised three motorcycles.
