Police detained a total of 50 Rohingyas during a drive in port city’s Kazir Dewri area early on Friday.
They were sent back to their camp in Cox’s Bazar with police protection the same day.
The Rohingyas came to Chattogram to seek alms and zakat ahead of Eid, said Mohammad Mohsin, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station.
Of them, eight are male, 14 female and 28 children, he added. The OC said on information, police conducted the drive and detained them from footpaths.
