At least 50 BNP activists were injured while police charged baton and opened fire on them while these were on way to joint mass rally marking the last campaign day on Thursday.
BNP and Oikyafront candidate of Cox’s Bazar-03 Lutfar Rahman Kazal said, police attacked BNP leaders and activists at five places in Sadar and Ramu areas when they were coming in a procession to join in the downtown.
He claimed that police set up barricades in different points to foil the rally by resisting people from joining the rally. Not Awami League, police charged baton and shot on Sheaf of Paddy supporters, he said.
Police also arrested eight BNP supporters from rally, Kazal said.
