UNB, Gaibandha :
Police arrested 15 leaders including district nayeb-e-ameer of Jamaat-e Islami from a mosque at Saharbhita village in Saghata upazila on Friday morning on charge of planning sabotage during holding a secret meeting.
Mashrukur Rahman Khaled, superintendent of Gaibandha Police, said that a team of police cordoned off the mosque while they were holding a clandestine meeting inside it.
The arrestees were identified as Abdul Wares, district nayeb-e-ameer, Enamul Haque, secretary of upazila unit, Abdul Gafur, Jahedul Islam, Abdul Hamid, Nure Alam Siddique, Abu Imran, Jahirul Islam, Azadul Islam, Nazrul Islam, Abdul Malek, Zillur Rahman, Shamsul Haque, Amjad Hossain, highly-trained Jamaat members (Rokon).
UNB from Dinajpur adds: Police in separate drives arrested 35 people from different places of the district from Thursday night to Friday morning on various charges.
Dinajpur Police Control Room sources said that separate teams conducted drive from night to morning and arrested 35 people and also recovered 110 pieces of Yaba tablets, 35 bottles of phensidyl, 300 grams of hemp and 10 litres of liquor.
