Chandpur Correspondent :

A total of 50 constables(Trainee Recruitment Constables) were appointed by Chandpur Police Super as per Govt’s recruitment policy. The appointment was given through fair and impartial selection.
Among them three are girls. At first, a total of 413 were primarily selected, out of over two thousand candidates and then 129 were scrutinised and selected in the 2nd phase and in the 3rd stage , three girls among fifty candidates / contestants were finally selected. Then, after medical check up and Police verifications, these fifty candidates were finally appointed. They were appointed fairly and honestly as per Govt rules. All are the citizens of Chandpur.
In the waiting list there are 11 more candidates.
In these job procedures, all 50 candidates were selected by virtue of their merits and transparently. Earlier, the candidates had to send a bank draft for Tk 100/00 for the job as per circular at the time of submitting their applications.
The newly appointed constables are so happy and excited that they are simply taken aback /amazed that they have got the job by virtue of their merits, quality and qualifications by spending only Tk 100/00 ! No bribery at all ! Whereas they earlier thought, lakhs of taka would be needed to manage the job.
They were greeted by the Police Super Milon Mahmud by presenting them flowers one by one at a reception function arranged at Police Lines on Sunday (7 October) last. Additional SP Sudipto Roy presided while Acting Civil Surgeon Dr Md Masud Rana and Press Club President Prof Iqbal Patwary among others spoke on the occasion.
