The students of Dhaka Imperial College detained at least 50 buses of Raida Paribahan at Rampura in the capital for allegedly pushing a student from the bus as he wanted to pay half fare.
Later, the owner of Raida Paribahan agreed to reach a compromise with the agitated students.
To calm the students, an agreement between the two parties was agreed at Rampura police station that half of the fare should be taken from the students of any educational institution in the capital. Raida authorities accepted their demand.
Rampura Police Inspector (investigation) Saiful Islam confirmed the matter to the media saying that all the demands of the students have been accepted by the Raida Transport Authority.
According to the student’s demand, Raida has to take half fare from all the students of the capital if they show their identity cards.
In addition, the nine seats reserved for women in each bus cannot be occupied by male passengers.
The police official further said that the Managing Director of Raida Paribahan accepted the demands and assured us of their implementation.
At the end of the agreement, the buses stuck on the road were released.
Earlier, at around 1:20 pm, the agitated students detained about 50 buses of the Raida Paribahan in front of the BTV building in Rampura for allegedly pushing a student from the Raida bus. After the police came and explained to the students and removed them from the road, the situation became normal.
