Begum Badrunnesa Ahmed Trust awarded five renowned women for their contribution to the society at a ceremony held on Friday in the auditorium of International Mother Language Institute of Dhaka University.
The award was given marking the International women’s Day.
The recipients are – former Deputy Leader of the House Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury, former Home Minister Advocate Sahara Khatun, Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, former Foreign Minister and Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni and Major General Susane Giti.
National Professor Anisuzzaman was present on the occasion as the chief guest while International Business Department of Dhaka University Prof Khondoker Bazlul Hoque and former Vice-President of DUCSU Prof Mahfuza Khanam and Maj. Gen. (Retd.) Iftekhar Uddin were present as the special guests.
