A mobile court has fined six shops in Rangpur city Tk 140,000 for producing, storing and selling banned polythene bags. At this time 5 tons of polythene was seized.
District Magistrate Mahmud Hasan Mridha conducted the operation at Nawabganj Bazar in the city on Thursday. Officials of Rangpur RAB-13 and Environment Department assisted in the operation.During the raid, six shops including One Time Store, Rupali Store, Bismillah Store, Riyadh Printing and Packaging, Nasir Store, Taher Bag House and Obaidul Enterprise were fined Tk 140,000.
At that time 5 tons of banned polythene was seized from the shops. Executive Magistrate Mahmud Hasan Mridha said the operation was carried out today as part of anti-pollution campaign and environmental protection activities. During the raid, 5 shops seized 5 tons of banned polythene in Nawabganj Bazar of the city and a total fine of Tk 140,000 was imposed. The district administration will continue its campaign against various organizations producing, stocking and marketing polythene.
