A court here on Tuesday sentenced five people to death for killing a school boy in the district town in 2010.
The condemned convicts are Fazle Rabbi Shishir, Saddam, Setu, Zakir Hossain and Miran, all are residents of Sadar upazila.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Waheduzzaman Shikder handed down the verdict around 12:00pm while all the convicts were present at the courtroom According to case records, the convicts stabbed Mohammad Shadin, a class X student of Rashidpur Qawmi madrasa in Bajaripara area of the district town, to death on 23 March 2010.
The victim’s father Saiful Islam filed a case against the five people on March 24, 2010.After examining the evidences as well as the statements of 10 witnesses in the case, the Judge handed down the verdict today (Tuesday).
