Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained five Rohingya women and seized 7,924 Yaba tablets worth around Tk 23.77 lakh from theoe possession in Nhila union of Teknaf uapzila on Sunday night.
The detainees are Solemon Khatun, 30, Hamida, 35, Nasima Khatun, 30, Setara Begum, 18, and Dildar, 30. They hail from different villages of Horipara upazila in Akiya district of Myanmar, said Lt Col Abujar Al Zahid, commander of BGB-2 Battalion in Teknaf.
Tk 6 cr car seized: Officials of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department of Chittagong Port seized a Range Rover Jeep worth about Tk six crore from a yard on Monday morning. Shahmimur Rahman, Deputy Director of the department, said a man imported the rover in the name of another brand. Acting on a tip off, a team of Customs Intelligence conducted a drive in the area and recovered the Vehicle at around 11:00 am yesterday.
