A Chittagong court on Tuesday awarded seven years rigorous imprisonments (RIs) to five robbers each for possessing fire arms.
The court of Chittagong Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Moshiur Rahman Chowdhury also fined them Taka 10 thousand each and in default to suffer more one year imprisonment.
The convicts are M Haresh Hossain alias Shahjahan, Mohammad Abu Bakkar, Mohammad Arif alias Arif Mainuddin, Mohammad Ajam and Mohammad Kashem. Court sources said Kotwali police arrested the five dacoits from city’s
Andarkilla intersection while they were riding on an auto-rickshaw in order to commit robbery around 1.30 am on August 3 in 2012.
