Five persons, who leaked false questions of Medical College admission tests were placed on two days’ remand.
Magistrate Satyabrata Sikder of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka passed the remand order after hearing. Earlier, investigation officer of the case, CID’s Organised Crime (Sub-inspector) Shibbir Ahmed produced the accused in the court in a case filed with Paltan Police Station and sought seven days’ remand for each accused in the interest of smooth investigation of the incident.
It has been learned that Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has detained five members of a
syndicate on charge of leaking fake question paper for MBBS admission test.
CID Assistant Special Superintendent of Police Sharmin Jahan confirmed the matter to newsmen.
They were nabbed in a drive at various places, like Kajla of Jatrabari and Dania of the city on Wednesday night, she said.
Besides, police raided Badda area and nabbed three more persons. They recovered three mobile phones and two laptops from their possessions. Meanwhile, they were sued under different sections of the recently passed Digital Security Act-2018.
The accused persons are Kawsar Gazi, S/O Kalam Gazi, from Bhandaria in Pirozpur, Sohel Mia, S/O Zakir Hossain, from Motlab in Chandpur, Tariqul Islam Shovon, S/O Hasanur Rashid from Kalkini in Madaripur, Rubayat Tanvir (Aditta), S/O Alam from Patnitola from Naogaon, and Masudur Rahman, S/O Ansar Ali from Kalihati in Tangail. Their lawyers sought bail for their clients cancelling their remand.
