A young man died from electrocution at Satkhali village in Paikgaccha upazila yesterday. The deceased was identified as Nazmul Haque, 34, son of Rakibul Islam of the village.
Nazmul came in contact with a electric wire when he switched on a pump of a fish enclosure at Hariadanga in the village around 5 am, said sub-inspector of Paikgaccha Police Station Anish Kumar.
Later, he was taken to a local hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Bagerhat Correspondent says: Suman Debnath (23), an MA examinee (appeared) and son of one Sunil Debnath of village Chulkathi-Nababpur under Sadar Upazila in Bagerhat district met his tragic end when he was electrocuted in his residence at Saturday night.
It is learnt from the relatives that at the night when ill-fated Suman Debnath tried to switch on the newly installed electric motor in his house as trial he was, somehow, electrocuted. As a result, he was fatally injured.
Chandpur Correspondent reports: A small girl was electrocuted at Puran Bazar in Chandpur district town on Saturday morning.
The deceased girl was identified as Monisha Das , 10, class- 3 student of the local Government Primary school and daughter of Shuvas Das -a resident of Horisova area at Puran Bazar in the town. Close kin of the victim Mukti Rani Das has told this correspondent that while plucking flower for offering puja on the roof of the building in the morning, she suddenly touched live electric wire of lighting and decoration, arranged on Friday night for body turmeric function of her relative and was critically injured by electrocution.
BSS from Bramanbaria adds: Two people were electrocuted in separate incidents in Sadar upazila of the district last night (Monday).
The deceased were identified as Mostafa Mia, 40, of Paik Para village at Basudev union in Sadar upazila and Md Yasin Mian of Sutiyara village at Budhal union, police sources said.
Family sources said Mostafa Mia came in contact with a live electric wire while working with the electric line. He was rushed to Brahmanbaria Sadar upazila, where on-duty doctor declared him dead.
In another incident, Yasin Mian came in contact with an electric wire and sustained injuries. He was rushed to Brahmanbaria Sadar upazila, where on-duty doctors declared him dead.
