Police arrested five outsides along with hemp from the Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) on Friday. The arrestees were identified as Soyab Ali, Milon Miah, Moinul Miah, Saleh Ahmed and Pollal Ahmed.
A team of proctorial body conducted drives in different areas of the campus from 4pm to 9pm and arrested ‘hemp trader’ Soyab, leader of a gang who used to supply hemp in the campus, said Zahir Uddin, proctor of the university. Acting on his information, police arrested four others along with 32 packets of hemp. Later, the arrestees were handed over to police.
