5 more put on remand over ASI killing

A Dhaka court on Sunday placed five accused on a six-day remand each in the case filed in connection with the murder of ASI Ibrahim Mia of Darus Salam Police Station in the city.
Dhaka’s Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Lutfar Rahman Shishir granted the six-day remand for each accused after the police of Darus Salam Police Station produced them in the court seeking a 10-day remand for each accused.
The miscreants stabbed ASI Ibrahim to death on Thursday night at a check-post near Parbata Cinema Hall of Gabtali when a police team, including ASI Ibrahim was searching the bag of a suspect. Seriously injured Ibrahim was rushed to Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital immediately, where the physicians declared him dead.
Selimuzzaman, Officer-in-Charge of Darus Salam Police Station have told newsmen that Ibrahim hailed from village Palpara of Kachua upazila in Bagerhat. Abdus Salam is his father. He was in the police station for about one and a half year. He left behind his wife and two children to mourn his death.  
Sub-Inspector of the police station Habibur Rahman filed the case against the accused.
