5 more killed in road crashes

At least five more persons were killed and several others injured in separate road crashes across the country on Saturday.
In Dhaka, a garment worker named Shahjahan was killed when a truck rammed him in front of the Magbazar Red Crescent Office in the city on Saturday.
Hatirjheel Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abu Mohammad Fazlul Karim confirmed the news that Shahjahan died on the spot at around 4am.
In Natore, an old man, Rashida Begum, 65, was hit by a motorcycle and died on Saturday in Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH).
Rashida Begum was the wife of one Habibur Rahman of that village. Natore Sadar Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Rozina Khatun said.
In Manikganj, a worker named Hasan (20), was killed in Golora bus stand area of Saturia upazila of Manikganj. On Friday, the body of the victim was recovered by the Golara Highway Police.
Hassan worked at a garage of Golara bus stand. Golara Highway police Sub- Inspector (SI) Alamgir Hossain said.
In Noakhali, a girl named Abuni Akter (10) was killed in a road crash when a truck hit her. The tragedy took place at Sondalpur Union under Kabirhat upazila of the district.
Police detained the bus driver Zakir Hossain (45).
Abuni Akter was the daughter of Jahangir Hossain from Matipur village of Sadar upazila.
Officer-in-Charge of Kabirhat Police Station Mirza Mohammad Hasan confirmed the matter to media.
In Chandpur , an old men named Abdul Kuddus, 70, was killed in a road clash between two CNG autorickshaws in Chandpur Sadar upazila.
The accident occurred on the Chandpur-Comilla regional road around 5:30 pm on Saturday.
The duty doctor declared him dead when brought to Chandpur Government General Hospital. Resident Doctor Mizanur Rahman confirmed the matter to media.
