Law enforcement agencies on Tuesday confirmed the identities of five out of the 11 suspected militants killed in separate raids in Gazipur and Tangail district on Saturday.
Gazipur district police revealed identities of three out the seven “militants” killed in a police raid in Patartek area in the district.
Meanwhile, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) disclosed identities of one
of the two suspected militants killed in Gazipur’s Lebu Bagan area while one of the two in Tangail town.
Harun-or-Rashid, Superintendent of Police (SP) in Gazipur, said they have identified the three Patartek militants as Saifur Rahman alias Bablu from Satak upazila in Sylhet, Ibrahim Khalil from Old Dhaka and Faridul Islam Akash from Kazipur upazila in Sirajganj.
The two other militants are – Ahsan Habib, who was killed in Tangail, and Aminul Ehsan, who was killed in Lebu Bagan in Gazipur.
Mufti Mahmud Khan, Rab’s legal and Media wing director said they have identified one militant named Ahsan, son of Altaf Hossain, was hailed from Rani Nagar upazila in Naogaon district while Aminul, son of Gaffar Mondol, from Kalai upazila in Joypurhat who were killed in Gazipur’s Lebu Bagan area and Tangail.
