Police rounded up five members of a inter-district dacoity gang from ShahAmanat Bridge area on Wednesday night while taking preparations for committing dacoity in the area.
These dacoity members were detained from infront of City steels of shah amanat bridge area under Bakalia thana at about 9.30 pm. The detained dacoits identified as Md. Ayub, Abul Kashem, Md. Mizan, Morshed Alam and Jalal Ahmed.
The detained hails from Boalkhali, Patiya, Bakalia and Chandanaish upazila.Police recovered two LGs, 4 rounds bullets, different types of lock breaking equipments from their possession. Bakalia thana officer in-charge Md. Mohsin told that acting on secret information, Bakalia thana police forces conducted raid in the area andmanaged to apprehend them.
After quizzing, the dacoits confessed to police that they were taking preparations to commit dacoity in the house of one middle-east expatriate Noor Hossain in the area.
Two separate cases have been lodged with the concerned police station under arms act and dacoity crimes, sources said.
