The authorities of Chittagong University (CU) formed a five-member probe committee to investigate the Wednesday’s clash between two factions of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Chittagong University unit on the campus.
The committee, headed by Prof Abul Monsur, was asked to submit the probe report within three working days. The other members of the committee are Director of the Forestry and Environment Institutions Dr. Jarin Akhter, the Provost of Master Da Surjo Sen hall Tarit Kumar Ball, CU College Inspector Shyamal Ranjan Chakraborty and Assistant Proctor SAM Ziaul Islam.
The clash was between the supporters Sixty Nine group and Apitap group over raging a junior of Sixty Nine group. 17 leaders and activists of the both group were injured.
Sixty Nine and Epitaph, two buggy-based groups, are known to be followers of former Chattogram City Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin.
