5 killed in road accidents

At least five persons were killed in road accidents in Brahmanbaria and Moulvibazar districts on Saturday.
 Of the deceased, three died in Brahmanbaria and two in Moulvibazar districts.
In Brahmanbaria’ Sarail upazila,three passengers were killed when a passenger bus rammed an auto-rickshaw on Saturday morning.
The deceased were identified as Nasar Mia, 17, son of Khorshed Mia, Arman, 17, son of Faruque Mia, and Saidul, 18, son of Lokku Mia. All of them hailed from Charchartala area of Ashuganj upazila.
Locals said that an auto-rickshaw was crossing the road at Malihaata Bazar in the morning. Just then, a Dhaka-bound passenger bus from Sylhet struck auto-rickshawa leaving passenger Nasar Mia dead on the spot and other passengers injured.
Locals rescued and sent them to Bhairab Upazila Health Complex and Bajitpur Jahirul Islam Medical College Hospital in Kishorganj district respectively. They later succumbed to injuries around 9:30am.
Md Hossain Sarker, Officer-in-Charge of Sarail Khatihata Highway Police Station confirmed the matter to media.
The killer bus fled the scene and the matter is being investigated, the OC added.
Two persons died at Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital after being injured in a road accident at Islampur of Sadar upazila on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Nepur Ali, 50, son of Tahid Miah, hailed from Atason village of Balaganj upazila, and auto-rickshaw driver Tareq Miah, 22, son of Tahir Miah, from Noyagaw area of Fenchuganj Upazila.
Mujibur Rahman, Sub-Inspector of Moulvibazar Model Police Station told the media that a bus hit an auto-rickshaw at Islampur, injuring the auto-rickshaw driver and its passenger critically early in morning.
Locals rushed them to the hospital, but they were declared dead by doctors.
Police seized the bus, said SI.
