Staff Reporter :At least five persons were killed and 10 other also injured in separate road accidents in Natore and Madaripur districts on Tuesday.Of them, four were identified as Raju Ahmed, 22, and Rabiul, 32, from Natore, and Abdul Alim, 27, and Abdul Wahid, 37, from Madaripur, police said.In Natore, a truck driver was killed and 10 others were injured in a head-on collision between a Rajshahi-bound bus of Akib Transport and a tank-lorry on the Dhaka-Natore Highway at Karbala under Boraigram Police Station, said Khanakar Fuad Ruhani, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Baraigram Highway Police.The injured people were rushed to the Baraigram Upazila Health Complex, the police official said. Police also recovered the body and sent it to the Natore Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy, he said. The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately, the police official said. Meanwhile, two helpers of a truck were killed in a road accident in the Airmari bridge area of Boraigram upazila in the district on Tuesday morning. Bonpara Highway Police OC Fuad Ruhani said, a truck ran over the truck helpers from behind when they were busy in repairing their truck in the morning, leaving the duo dead on the spot. They are Raju Ahmed, and Rabiul. The bodies were handed over to the victims’ family members. In Madaripur, two banana traders were killed in a road accident at Kamalkandi under Rajoir upazila in the morning. They are Abdul Alim and Abdul Awahid.Rajoir Police Station OC Anowar Hossain Bhuiyan said, a Barisal-bound banana-laden truck hit another truck on the Dhaka-Barisal Highway around 7:15am, leaving them dead on the spot. Police recovered the bodies and sent those to Madaripur Sadar Hospital morgue.
