Police arrested five suspected activists of banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from Naoduli Bazaar area in Atrai upazila on early Thursday.
The detainees are Moazzem Hossian, 30, Abdullah, 42, Abdur Razzak, 25, Lulu Sardar, 30, Masud Rana, 25.
Being tipped-ff that JMB members were holding
meeting at a house in Naoduli Bazaar area, teams of police conducted drive and arrested the five suspected activists of JMB at about 4:00 am, said Md Iqbal Hossian, Superintendent of Naogaon Police.
The law enforcers also recovered two foreign-made pistols, 13 rounds of bullets, two magazines and huge grenade making explosives from their possession, he added.
The detainees are being interrogated and drives are going on, police said.
