BangladeshNaval forces rescued five sailors including two captains from Kutubdia channel in Bay on Thursday early dawn .
Out of five, three sailors identified Captain Obaid and Fazlur Rahman of Surveyor vessel and officerof the same company Md.Rony belong to Saif Shipping company. Remaining two are the boatmen .
BN sources said Saif Shipping comapany’s one surveyor vessel went to outer berth of Chittagong port in Kutubdia channel to conduct survey a vessel anchored at outer berth on Wednesday night at about 12.30 pm . This speed boat type surveyor vessel sinks in the bay while returning after survey at early morning yesterday due to rough sea due to failure of vessel engine.
After sensing the news of sinking, Naval rescue vessel BNS Adayma rushed to the spot and rescued the sailors and officer .Saif shipping company Manager Md. Ahsanul Karim told that survey vessel went to outer berth to inspect the sugar laden foreign vessel MV Mandarin Dalia anchored at outer berth. City Group of Chittagong imported this sugar, sources said.
