UNB, Rangamati:
Police on Sunday arrested five people in connection with the murder of local Jubo League leader Arbinda Chakma in Jurachhari upazila.
The arrestees are Lakkhi Lal Chakma, a member of Dumduma union parishad in Jurachhari, Uttam Kumar Chakma, Manos Chakma, Rabidhan Chakma and Hemanta Chakma.
Addition police superintendent of Rangamati Shafiul Sarwar said the suspects were arrested during a police drive in the morning.
On December 5, Arbinda was shot to death by unidentified miscreants at Mitingachhari Bazar of Jurachhari upazila.
A group of criminals opened fire on Arbinda while he was returning home after attending a party meeting in the upazila headquarters, leaving him dead on the spot.
