The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police has arrested five for recording and uploading indecent and objectionable video contents for Youtube, facebook and other social media.
Police arrested the in separate raid in Dhaka and Gazipur early Tuesday, said CID’s additional deputy inspector general Kamrul Ahsan in a briefing on Tuesday.
The arrestees identified as Kazi Monir Hossain, Rafiqul Islam, Monir Hossain Raju, SK Agun and Asif Arafat.
They are actors, directors, camera crew of the video contents. The CID official said that they have traced 15-17 Youtube channels which produce such contents.
The groups conduct their shooting in different hotels and resorts of Rajbari, Tangail and Sirajganj, he added.
He also said that they have taken actions against three such Youtube channels and deleting many contents from there.
The CID official said that the makers and crew of such video contents lure many aspirant actors and actresses for movies and dramas and then trap them into these indecent contents. He said that they would file a case against the arrested and also write to Youtube authorities.
