A five-day long national debate competition under three categories began on Jahangirnagar University campus. Securing the slogan – Bitorko Choluk Ashuk Juthobodho Agami, JU Debate Organization (JUDO), in association with Acme Company, organised the programme yesterday . Sheikh Rahat Rahman, President of JU Debate Organization (JUDO), disclosed the event at a press conference at the office of JU Journalist’s Association around 3.00 pm. JU Pro-VC Prof. Abul Hossain is expected to inaugurate the programme on Wednesday at an opening ceremony at the Zahir Raihan Auditorium while the closing ceremony will be held at the Selim Al Deen Mutkamancha on September 3.
The festival includes rally, seminar, Inter-school, college and universities under parliamentary style competitions, the secretary said, adding that a total of 32-team from different school, college and universities across the country would participate at the programme.
Among others, Shaheen Reza, general secretary of JUDO, Mahabubul Amin, Marketing Manager of ACME Agrovet and Beverage Ltd, Sabbir Ahmed, ex-president of JUDO, Ibrahim Hossain and Sadika Benta Mazhar, Vice President of JUDO, Rukaiya Alam Moumita, co-convener of school debate competition, were present at the press conference.
