5-day honey fair begins at BSCIC in city

 A five-day honey fair began on Sunday the premises of the Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) at Motijheel in the city.
The BSCIC arranged the fair to help create a market for different types of honey, promote honey farming with modern technology and raise awareness about the uses of honey.
BSCIC Chairman Mustak Hassan Md. Iftekhar inaugurated the fair as the chief guest at a function at the BSCIC conference room.
BSCIC Planning and Development Director Iftekharul Islam, Secretary Rafikul Islam and Bangladesh Mouchashi Kallyan Samity General Secretary Khairuzzaman spoke at the inaugural function, among others.
Project Director Md Rezaul Karim presided over.
Addressing the function, BSCIC Chairman Mustak Hassan stressed on exporting honey with standard quality abroad after meeting the domestic demand producing more honey using the technology.
He also assured the honey farmers to fulfill their demand and to give subsidy on different raw materials related to honey farming.
Speaking at the function, Mouchashi Kallyan Samity General Secretary Khairuzzaman, earlier, urged the authorities concerned to expand the market for honey in far and wide and issue Identity Card to the honey farmers to make their movement with honey smooth throughout the country.
