At least five more dead bodies, including those of two blood brothers, were recovered from the river, but dead bodies of two are still missing, sources said. Two boats sank in the Padma River on Sunday evening in nor’wester. In Manikganj, at least three dead bodies of agro labourers were recovered by the divers of Fire Service after two days who along with two others went missing in trawlers sank in the Padma River during storm on Sunday evening.
The deceased were identified as agro labourers Yaad Ali, 48, Chan Miah, 45 and Ismail Hossain, 58.
Md Mizanur Rahman, Deputy Assistant Director of Manikganj Fire Service and Civil Defence, told the media that body of Yaad Ali was found floating in the river, half kilometer from Paturia ferry ghat and two other bodies were found afloat at Harirampur 15 kilometers from the ghat around 9:30am on Tuesday.
After recovery, Fire Service handed over the bodies to Harirampur and Shibaloy Police Stations.
Divers of Fire Service are in search of two other missing persons of the capsized trawler in Padma River in Harirampur.
Earlier five people went missing the in Padma river in two separate incidents of trawlers capsized in Shibaloy and Harirampur upazila of Manikganj during a nor’wester two days ago.
In Rajbari, bodies of two brothers were recovered after two days. They with a boat sank while catching fish in Padma River during the river storm in Narayanpur area of the district.
Villagers recovered the bodies from the river of Dhollapara area around 7 am and another at 1:30 pm on Tuesday.
The boat capsized in a storm on Sunday evening.
The victims were identified as Babul Sardar, 34, son of one Hatem Sardar, of South Kawjani village under Debgram union of Goalanda upazila and his younger brother, Jibon Sardar, 14.
Monir, the relative of the victims said, the entire family used to depend on them, but after their unexpected death family must face financial problem.
Farhad Hossen, Sub-Inspector (SI) Goalanda Ghat Police Station told the news media.
