Five Bangladeshi nationals were killed as they were caught in clashes following missile attacks between Libyan government forces and rebels in Tripoli within a span of two days.Of them, two were killed on Tuesday while the three others on Wednesday, a Foreign Ministry source, quoting the Bangladesh Embassy in Tripoli, said on Thursday. The sources said, the two Bangladeshi workers were killed and another one was injured having being caught in clashes between the two forces when they were working at a water purification plant. Their bodies have been kept at a morgue at Abu Selim Hospital in Tripoli. They were identifies as Jahangir Monir of Narsingdi, and Mohammad Milon of Jessore, said a foreign ministry press release on Wednesday. On the other hand, the three others killed in a missile attack the next day on a tiles factory, were identified as Moshiur Rahman, son of Rafiqul Islam of Gopalganj, Sheikh Mohammad Milon, son of Ali Sheikh of Madaripur, and Murad, son of Sarwar Mollah of Madaripur.  Their bodies have been kept in Tripoli Medical Centre mortuary. Meanwhile, Ahsan Kibria Siddique, first secretary (labour) of Bangladesh Embassy to Libya, said the bodies, now kept in the mortuary, would be sent back to the country once international flights resume operation. Earlier in a similar incident in Benghazi, around 1,100 kilometres east of Tripoli, two more Bangladeshis were killed on July 30. “Because of the difficulties in communication, their names and other particulars could not be obtained yet,” said the foreign ministry source. It is to be mentioned that Bangladesh earlier advised all its nationals not to travel to Libya until “the situation there becomes stable” as heavy shelling resumed last week in southern Tripoli. The foreign ministry have said they are closely monitoring the situation there.Meanwhile, many Bangladesh nationals had been moved to safer areas and all have been advised “to remain alert and avoid conflict zones”. At least 200 people have been killed since the clashes erupted three weeks ago in the capital and also in the eastern city of Benghazi, where a coalition of Islamist militants and former rebels have overrun a major army base. Currently, over 45,000 Bangladeshis are working in various sectors in Libya. Last week, the government suspended exporting manpower to the trouble-torn North African country for safety reasons.
